I’m in the midst of doing updates to the backlist, which means I’ve been reading a lot of it, which has (not too surprisingly) sparked an idea or two.

Here we’ve got a bit of flash fiction, less than 2000 words, set between A BRAID OF LOVE and TRIPLE X, in which writer Geoffrey Anand does a photo session with painter-pornographer Reggie Galant.

Alexandra Caluen

Alexandra is a dance-obsessed office worker who came to California after graduate school and has found a great community in Los Angeles. Not quite as great as the community described in The L.A. Stories, but definitely inspirational. Alexandra was instrumental in establishing the L.A. chapter of USA Dance, Inc (the governing body for amateur DanceSport in the U.S.) and has competed in American Rhythm and American Smooth styles at the local, regional, and National level, winning National medals in 2010. On New Year’s Day 2012, Alexandra and her husband, along with several other USA Dance members, danced in the Rose Parade. Alexandra is currently studying contemporary and jazz technique, primarily to lend verisimilitude to the dances described in The L.A. Stories, but also because why not.

Favorite color: purple. Favorite wine grape: Zinfandel. Favorite musical artist: oh don’t make me choose, I like everything from Busta Rhymes to Doris Day. All-time favorite movie musical: Singin’ in the Rain.
