bonus factoid: that cover image is my own photograph taken at the real Million Dollar Theater in downtown Los Angeles, where much of this book is set.
WHERE DID THIS COME FROM?
I got to do some very fun things during the thirty years I lived in Los Angeles. One of those fun things was participating, along with my husband and several ballroom dance friends, in a narrative ballet adaptation of a story by Edgar Allan Poe, produced in 2010 at (you guessed it) the Million Dollar Theater.
Inspired by the semi-pro writer, director, cast, and crew who put their own money and a lot of time on the line, I wove pieces of that experience into MILLION DOLLAR DEATH. (Also into THE GHOST OF CARLOS GARDEL, where Tanith plays a major role.)
Who else is in this thing?
A whole lot of people! This one small book turned into a character mine, spinning off multiple novellas and novels. Three of the novellas are collected as IN THE WINGS, available free at Prolific Works.
Marco Hidalgo, a side character in MILLION DOLLAR DEATH, is a main character in UNDERTOW.
Victor Garcia, another side character, is a main character in four novels, beginning with EXPOSURE.
