You find me in a quite disgruntled frame of mind because Olympics, NBC coverage of, absolute crap. SHUT UP AND SHOW THE EVENT. And OMG so many ads. I should have set the DVR so I could zoom through everything but the events of interest, couldn’t be arsed to comb through two weeks of schedule to find them. #cranky and also #itsonlytv

Apropos of nothing, if you’d like to receive my new-for-2026 monthly newsletter, in which I introduce one of my backlist titles that I’ve discounted for the month, subscribe below!

1. [re-read] my own MM novel ‘Totally Thrown,’ the one about two national champion pairs skaters who start training together and … . Also re-read my own F/M to F/M/M novella ‘A Secret Chord.’

2. ‘See You at the Finish Line’ by Zac Hammett. If you enjoy new adult MM and would like a sport that isn’t hockey, try this one! It’s set at Cambridge and features the university’s cox and a rower. Complex intersection of tropes that I considered well handled; found the MCs thoroughly credible (both also thoroughly frustrating at times, as most new adult humans are).

3. more re-reads. ‘The Velveteen Rabbit’ by Margery Williams, a sweet young readers story. My own MM short ‘In Tune,’ for which I’m hoping I can talk my publisher into uploading an edit. Just a couple things I’d like to fix. And my own MM short ‘The Getaway.’

4. ‘Airs Above the Ground’ by Alex Washoe, a transgender lesbian sports romance in which the sport is dressage and the setting is Wyoming. Unusual, realistic, with an outraged agenda that suits my mood. Unfortunately also abundant editing fails. This is not the book that should misspell k.d. lang’s name.

5. ‘Keeping Kyle’ by Jeff Adams, MM feat. a shy workaholic tech guy and a pro hockey player brought together by a charity “bachelor auction.” Both MCs need a ton of therapy and the editing fails were abundant here, too.

6. [re-read] my own MM novel ‘Mistletango,’ because I wanted to read but was too disgruntled to pick up another book by somebody else.
