We now have a rough timeline for leaving Los Angeles.
This was not an easy decision, but for family and other reasons it makes sense. A cross-country move on the horizon is fairly galvanizing when it comes to decluttering. It’s definitely pushed me to identify the things that don’t need to move with us. Like this:
This nice little box has, at various times, held everything from jewelry-making tools to a hoard of cards & stationery. Thanks to recent efforts in ‘sending actual cards through the actual mail’ and digitizing other things stashed in other drawers, this particular small chest of drawers is now empty.
Which means it’s going away. Today, in fact, to Goodwill - along with four bags of other stuff, another small piece of excess furniture, and the frames for a couple of Chinese carvings which will henceforth live on a bookshelf instead of on the wall.
In certain categories, I’ve been ‘one in = two out’ for a long time. On our recent vacation, I got a new coffee mug, so two old ones are going out. We also picked up another piece of art, hence the two sizable frames going out. I’ll document those later, probably.
For now, it’s time to take a moment to appreciate my yoga room, ever less cluttered, then go and run errands.
