Okay, so here you have it: the novella I wrote after ragefully deciding that I could write my own, happy-ending version of a scenario recently seen in a prizewinning movie. Out for a week now, and happily on sale for Easter weekend at my publisher, JMS Books! Click HERE for a link to all my titles there.
Three key things about THIRD TIME LUCKY:
It’s available at AMZ and all the other platforms, but if you want this sale price, get it at the publisher!
It’s a first-times, best-times, finally-the-time-is-right romance featuring men connected by ballroom dancing: younger MC Troy Nakamura is the competitive dance partner of MC Laszlo Jovanovic’s sister.
The timeframe is just over twelve years, beginning in 2010 and concluding in 2023. This, of course, encompasses the Covid-19 pandemic. Since the story is set in the real world, world events are on the page. Also on page: a stalker incident involving gun violence and a train crash involving loss of life. Be kind to yourself if those are potential triggers.
Since it is Easter weekend, I will now call out some Easter eggs! First and foremost, the movie that (in part) inspired this story. Read about that big fat WHY right here: OF AN AGE.
Next Easter egg: THIRD TIME LUCKY’s younger MC Troy becomes an intellectual property attorney and eventually finds himself working in the same downtown Los Angeles firm as my character Forrest Kim from PUBLIC OFFERING. At this point in my story-universe timeline, Forrest and his husband Julian Sherwood are a few years down the road from where we left them, and here I drop some details on what Julian’s been up to since moving to LA.
Next is more subtle. Julian has established an urban-renewal nonprofit, and THIRD TIME LUCKY’s MC Laszlo gets involved with that through his father’s real estate development company in Orange County. Also partnering with Julian: Caminito Property Group, owned by the Belmann family, of which my character Angelo Belmann is a member. Angelo (Angie) is one of the main characters in my novel MISTLETANGO, also available on sale this weekend from JMS Books.
THIRD TIME LUCKY was a joy to write and I hope you love it as much as I do. Happy reading!
